I finished this painting May 14, 2024, according to my notes. I feel it was a breakthrough painting, in that I started glazing over the old painting, then masking out shapes, which created windows through which we see the old colors and shapes. Then I painted those shapes, making sure to paint boundaries, using different colors for parts of a shape that can be seen through the "windows". This is my current process.
