"The Alchemy of Sorrow"

 So many ingredients swirl around inside a person who has lost those they love. There is an alchemy, deepening the person's capacity to feel, especially empathy, and there is a strength that grows as well, a maturity that is only gained in this way. Believing the person(s) we have lost are immortal, that in some fashion they are still alive, is very comforting.
