Untitled (for now)

This 22"x30" acrylic painting on paper is based on a couple of small paintings from a group of small sketches.

This was a sort of warm-up project. I used Teal, Indian Yellow Hue and Quinacridone Crimson plus black and white to create these. I was not sure how they would look until I removed the tape. Some were okay, and two of them I really loved, so I used those two as inspiration for this painting.

These two really stood out for me, and I wanted to use them to inspire a larger painting.

This was my first layer. It is stiff and almost all the shapes are rectangles. I knew I had to change that, and the stage above is the result. It still needs some line, and I will continue working on it until it blossoms.
