Jona as I knew him


In 1979, I was a struggling painter in Brooklyn, and I spent a lot of time with Dick Lethem and his family. This is a portrait of Jonathan Lethem at the age of 15 or so. He seemed an adult to me at the time, but judging by his writings, he was in the throes of a painful adolescence. You can visit his glove compartment.
