I think it is less garish now, with the orange rays from the head, along with the linkage of the chakras and the yellow corona and heart chakra in 3D.

The title of this painting is "Calcination", an alchemical term for spiritual aspiration heating up and expelling all extraneous materials, including attachments, complexes, and base desires.

Crazy Hippie Painting ....

Calcination in progress with mixing chart

Added green radiations, eyes and third eye, the rest of the traditional chakras, and more icky creatures being expelled. I also did the mixing chart. The colors are blue violet and its split complementaries, plus the colors to the outside of the complementary pair. It gives me quite a range to work with.

Patrick and Wild Horses

It was hard for me to get started today. I wanted to go back to my old pattern of making household work more important than painting. My recent intuitional guidance was that this is my job, and I should treat my chores the way I would if I had a full-time job away from home. Not the easiest thing for me to do. I am sure others who work at home understand. There is always something that needs to be done.

Just working on stuff. The small square one has regular gel that is turning clear, but certainly not hardened enough to paint over. The painting of Patrick is moving along a little. The painting of Christina has some quality I like. So far so good!

My son Patrick loves horses and draws them with a lot of skill. He is a good guy who works hard and rides a Harley. I don't know what spiritual process I will portray with his image, but I know it will be something that shows how he lives from his heart.

Dry to the Touch!

Maybe tomorrow I can label the back of the canvas and take it to the Jung Center! It is dry to the touch and should be relatively hard tomorrow. We shall see what we shall see.

It's a Nail Biter ...

I hope this Clear Tar Gel topcoat will be dry and hardened by tomorrow, when I was hoping to deliver it to the Jung Center for the membership show. If not, I will wait until Friday to deliver the paintings.

Serpentine Surround

I have the rest of this week to prepare my newer paintings for a members' show at the Jung Center. I would like to have "Garudasana" ready, but I am not sure I can get it up to speed for the deadline. Photos: Above, "Robyn Not", edges decorated and second coat of Clear Tar Gel drying. The red edge is on "To Make Gold, You Must Take Gold". These decorations have to dry and cure before I can put a shiny coat on that painting. Below, "Wild Betsy" has a wavy serpent on each edge. The bottom was done today. Once that dries and cures, I can coat this painting and the "To Make Gold ..." painting with Clear Tar Gel as well. Then that has to dry too! Then I have to wire them all for hanging.

Shinier and Shinier!

All three of these paintings are now coated with Clear Tar Gel, which was relatively easy to apply, dries clear, and intensifies the colors underneath. Top painting is on canvas. The other two are on wood panels.

Funny What I See When I Post!

Gel Coating on Serpent Much Clearer!

Along with the clearing gel on the serpent, I see that there is not enough contrast between the bird and the black/green background. I will work on that next. Sometimes because the naked eye sees color so well, a lack of contrast is less obvious to us.

So here is a black and white version of the same painting. I need to work on the values.
