In Reverse Order ...

I was never happy with this "Moon" painting, so I covered it with pinkish-rustish paint, scraped that off, added some pink and blue collage pieces, covered them with Titan Green Light, sanded that off, and now I have painted around the shapes somewhat, and through them in many cases, to produce a new approach to layering with collage. More to come!

For My Husband on Valentine's Day

Work in Process ...

I had what I consider an unsuccessful painting with a large central image. I painted over it with light coral and scraped the surface to let the texture show through. After coating it with glossy gel, I used matte medium to remove the shine, and put collage pieces onto the surface.

Now it looks like this. I have covered up a lot of the collage pieces with light greenish white, and once it dries, I will sand the surface to expose some of the underlying colors and shapes.

"Scraps"

Untitled So Far ...

This was titled "Archipelago", a bright blue-green and orange abstract piece with lots of gold on it, with collaged rectangular pieces that came from offloaded paint applied randomly to watercolor paper. I sanded it, painted over it with a yellowish neutral, dripped  paint on it in transparent violet, and added some gel print collage shapes. Then I put a layer of glossy gel on top of that and followed it with a layer of matte medium mixed with interference gold fluid acrylic. Now I am preparing to put on a top layer of more collage shapes.
